danpryor13gmail.com
Hi team. Recently I had my secondary air pump replaced as the mechanic told me it was “seized” but about a month later and my engine light has come back on. I went back to the same guy who read the codes for me and has now said it’s the “valves after the pump” that are causing the issue and that they need to be replaced as a pair. I am a bit suspicious as to wether he is legit or not so just looking for some other info. Also not sure if this is related but when I am driving(especially uphill) the engine will kind of stutter like it’s starving for gas or air before dropping down a gear and is fine again once the revs are over 3k. Any info will be super helpful Cheers
Rhitter
What year is your car / what car do you have? Looks like a Legacy GT 2006? The air pump that I am aware of wasn't installed until 2007. My OBXT build
m sprank
The pump and valves are to be replaced simultaneously if you follow protocol. The valves are known to seize.
danpryor13gmail.com
Yeah Gt 06, it definitely has the air pump but yea unsure where I can find the valves? Have followed the lines from the pump and maybe found 1. Any idea of how hard these are to change myself?
m sprank
Its not fun. Valves run about 335each new. Used take a huge chance on buying units that are or will seize (fast). Lots of people block off and delete in the tune.
