cbroo
I was at the junkyard a few days ago and they had three wrecked WRX's with perfectly good engines. I thought maybe a WRX engine would fit. Yes/No? cause after the winter I'm thinking of maybe upgrading to a bigger engine EJ20T, or I could import a EJ20TT. But the TT wouldnt fitso any thoughts? low_suby_wagon
Damn, we have no boneyards with wrx's. PA sucks, how much they charging for complete set ups?
cbroo
dont know the guy said depending on mileage of engines from 3500-7500$. Thats not the set up though, probably near 10g's to do a full swap and all other things included.
nKoan
I believe it should. The motor was put into Japanese Legacy's of that body style. I don't think it'd be easy, but it certainly wouldn't be impossible.
iON Performance
cbro - based on the USDM BE/BH chassis, you won't be able to fit the EJ205 or any factory turbo'd motor in there without a custom cross-member. (The exhaust manifold etc will not clear the factory x-member). The TT set-up is due to a very specific x-member used on the JDM/UKDM/EDM models. The second turbo gets in the way of the steering column on LHD cars.

iON Performance
cbroo - the engine physically fits. However the exhaust manifold, up-pipe, water pump etc will not clear certain parts without a custom x-member. The WRX x-member will not cross over since the BE/BH chassis is considerably different compared to the older BD/BG chassis.
cbroo
ok, so would a bolt on turbo be easier but obvisouly not safer for my engine
iON Performance
cbroo - a bolt-on kit will resolve the x-member fitment issue. Giving you have the right engine management & tuning (along w/ the proper fuel supply) then it's not anymore "dangerous" to add F/I to your motor.
