lushka16
I just replaced my stock head unit with a Sony XAV-AX100. I noticed that the wiring harness does not include a wire for sub out. Does anyone know why? Should I be looking to integrate the stock sub into my new HU? Also, I find my new HU to be very vertical, relative to the slope of the dash. Is there a dash trim kit that allows the HU to be a little bit tilted? I bought this one.
Tschagfreebird151
you should be running your sub through a separate amplifier. You will also have better sound. as far as trim kit, I am not sure, what is available. Cheers.
lushka16
I think I worded my question wrong - I'm looking to use my stock sub with my new head unit, but I can't seem to found the sub out wire on the car's wiring harness. What do I need to use?
DrD123
With the H/K system, the wiring to the subwoofer comes from the underseat amplifier - if you are using a different amp, you can grab the wires there. For the trim piece, the JDM part looks nicer, but it's hard to tell if it angles the stereo, or if it just doesn't sink it as far into the dash https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/29758
lushka16
I have the OEM under seat amplifier. Do I need to run a wire from there to my new HU, or does the sub not receive a separate channel? Or is there something I can tag on to from the factory wiring harness behind the HU?
