Dual Climate Controls have died

2005 LGT Limited with 140K. HVAC was working, just not well. I replaced the blend door, and mode actuators with OEM Subaru parts, because I had every problem related to those being bad. Now the climate controls won't turn on at all. Radio works fine, all buttons are lit, but now the radio display won't return to full brightness when the dimmer button is pressed. Have checked every fuse labeled HVAC, AC, Audio or otherwise, and they all are good. I swapped the whole unit out and have the same problem with 2 different units. Any help is much appreciated.
