Crotchasaurus
I have a 2002 Legacy GT Wagon with an ej251. It’s been having a problem with starting up after I gas up. Almost like it doesn’t want to fire. Also, when it does fire, it smells horrible and runs horribly for a short while. Could it be a coil pack, or spark plugs? Or is it something with the vacuum inside my gas tank? Mind you, the car doesn’t throw any codes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Come to NJ where the attendants don't speak English or care if you have exact change... I gotta yell at them all the time. Also make sense, no room for vapors to travel. Talbz
I'm dealing with this issue right now. Replaced purge solenoid (near alternator) no change in symptom. No CEL codes. Today, left car running, removed gas cap, RPM increased. Decided to leave car running while filling tank, as soon as pump started, car started to surge, a few times came close to stalling. Would the valve by the canister cause these symptoms? Mentioned this to dealer when timing belt was replaced, they didn't have a suggested solution. YeuEmMaiMai
yes if the valve is remaining open and engine is pulling excess fuel via purge.
