Aux no longer working after speaker install

So I brought my 2006 Subaru Legacy second hand and it came with an AUX input that came through the interior just before the cup holders. All I needed to do to switch to the AUX input was to change the FM frequency to 88.3 and the sound would play without the static you get with an unused radio station.

The car came with a pair of rooted front speakers so I brought a pair of Kenwood speakers and installed them. I installed the passenger side speaker first, everything went great and I tested it specifically using the AUX input and was fine but when I went through the same process on the drivers side and plugged it all in, I tried to test it out with the AUX again but when I turned the car on, there was only static and no music would play. All the radio stations were not affected but the channel I used for my AUX wouldn't work.

Has anyone had any similar problems and had it resolved?

This is the current Mcintosh head unit in the car
