Hesitation and the occasional bang HELP

My 05 liberty gt hesitates around tight slow corners and traffic light corners when coming back on to the throttle unless its a really slow soft push. After I hit about 20kph-ish its goes back to normal but if I put my foot down a little bit more it will still hesitate but a bang/thud sound comes from the rear of the car then the car operates normal. I have recently found that my front left tyre hasn't been aligned properly and will be fixed in a few days, could that be causing the issue? Some sort of weird AWD thing? Thanks!
