Fraugher Posted January 20, 2018 Share Posted January 20, 2018 In our new 2018 Legacy with the HK head unit, am receiving a message that a text has arrived but with no way to have it read out loud. We have a 2015 with HK unit, and it reads the text to you. Any help appreciated... is the problem that we are in Apple Carplay? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
securityguy Posted January 20, 2018 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Apple Carplay integration in the 2018 is much different than what we have on prior year head units. The units from 2015-17 have the text feature built in...the 18 requires your phone to be plugged into the USB port and in Carplay mode to do anything phone related. pshadden Posted January 23, 2018 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Check in your Notifications settings for Messages to ensure that the Show in Car Play is on. I've also had this issue randomly where I'll get a text and it won't notify me until I see the icon with the notification in the side bar/recently used app bar. MrCobbs Posted January 24, 2018 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Reset the security settings on the iPhone. When you initially connect it, it asks if you want to allow the reading of text messages.
