10bandtotal
Hello all, I recently bought a 05 lgt at auction so I have no idea about it's previous history. That said, the car made no weird noises from the time of purchase until now, fresh after a new clutch and flywheel. Has anyone had or heard of a similar experience? The noise persists clutch in or out, and picks up with acceleration. I opened the bell housing again to inspect for damage or obvious causes but everything appears fine and I followed the install procedure. I did install the compatible WRX kit as apposed to the one for a stock legacy. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
apexi
Subaru's make weird noises, especially if you live somewhere where it gets cold. The injectors can be pretty noisy, and I think it's sort of common to hear a little piston slap when it gets really cold outside and the engine isn't warmed up yet. relative4
Sometimes the dust cover gets bent during installation and contacts the flywheel. Video, preferably from under the car, might help.
10bandtotal
I originally tried to upload a video I took of the sound but it wouldn't allow me to for some reason. It is cold out currently but I let it idle to operating temp and it persisted. Like I mentioned it wasn't making this sound before.
