aj_mariner
Swapped two injectors today to trace a problem. Did the fuel release procedure and cranked the engine a couple more times to make sure it was good to go. To my surprise fuel sprayed out at me when popping off the first injector. Is this a tell-tale of another problem???
utc_pyro
No that's normal. You might want to pull one of the supply QD's as it's easier to catch the residual fuel in a cup that way.
aj_mariner
Ok, I don’t remember it spraying when I did it the first time. This time it was a decent amount too. Not just a squirt.
WahooNo2
if the engine was hot it may have expanded the fuel in the lines and caused it to represurize... i had that happen on my wrx when i did the fuel filter and gas sprayed in my face. aj_mariner
That’s probably it. The first time I put new injectors in it was 18degF outside and the injectors were not wanting to go in. Had to use a hair drier to warm up the o-rings just so they’d go in the first time. Tried it after driving so everything was warm to get that nice pop when they seat this time.
