Sgt.Gator
On the Factory Five 818 Forum, there are 4-5 guys building 818s with an H6. Some are to be 818S as a DD, and some are 818R for track/racing. I'd love to see some cross-pollination between the Legacy H6 experts from here and what the 818 guys are doing. If your interested in following or chipping in that would be great. Here's an example pic of Hobby Racer's 818R build: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=77187&d=1511823451 His build thread is http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?23199-John-s-EZ36R-H6-818R-Build. Most of the other guys building H6 818s are in the thread too but have separate build threads. Nothing like a race track to find the weak points in man and machine. Sgt.Gator
Basically you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about.... Feel so inadequate after viewing that build thread I know the feeling! There are some guys on the FF forums with awesome fabrication skills and tuning knowledge. Many if not most of them are old guys like me that understand building Chevy and Ford powered hot rods like the FF Cobra. Very few know much about the EZ30/36 which is why I hope a couple of folks here will be interested. We do have the pioneer builder/tuner of EZ30 twin turbo engined Subarus in the forum, Jeff Sponaugle, but he hasn't posted much lately. 500HP of EZ30 goodness: http://www.sponaugle.com/nasioc/EngineShot.jpg http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?9816-My-WRX-Donor-car-with-EZ30R-6-cylinder-)&highlight=sponaugle But most of us interested in the EZ30 series don't want to turbo it, the whole point is to have a high-performance NA engine in the 818. RustyRuu
I was actually looking for a back shot of a 818 the other day to see how the tranny sat and how they blocked off the tailshaft section, and how they did shifter linkages. thanks for that. random guy is building a mustang v8 factory five monster and told me to check out they're mid engine subi project when he saw my legacy. just recently got into factory five, and now will explore the forum i didn't know they had also. thanks agian
