geddyup Posted October 27, 2005 Share Posted October 27, 2005 Hello again from Idaho, Last weekend I went over to Jackson Hole from Sun Valley. When I was using the sportshift in 2nd gear the car passed the redline by 1000rpm I thought the engine would cut out at redline. Is this going to hurt the engine? Is my tranny defective? I also maxed the speed 3 times on the car. fricken fast as heck. Also it corners real well with the new 18" wheels and my wide ovel tires. I hope ther cops do not moniter this site. I know COBB incresed the rev limited for the 5EAT, but didn't know it was that much 1000 RPM is quite a lot... Interesting.... Yes you will go a little past the redline before the limiter kicks in. perfectly normal. just dont do it all the time... Need forum help? It may have been on the H6 only though, I can't remember. There's no real reason to go much past redline except in maybe 1st gear to get a lil more out of it.
