Nader
Hello, I'm a student (20 yr old) looking to buy a 1999 Subaru Legacy B4 at my local used JDM dealership. It's an automatic transmission, with 35,000 km on it, clean title, no accident, no rust, dealership listed price is $6490. I'm driving home-school and home-work, I'll be driving roughly 14,000 km a year. I'm new to the Subaru community and the B4 car in general, I really like the look of the car and the drive system it has for the winter here in Vancouver. I wanted to know if it's ultimately worth it to buy. Will I encounter any mechanical issues that will be costly, any general problems with B4's, and any thing I should look out for in general? I contacted my dealership regarding the specific 1999 B4, they took it down on the website because it had a "transmission issue along with other issues". Their 1 year Limited Power-train Warranty covers: - Engine - Transmission - Differential - Turbocharger - Towing - Roadside Assistance Do you think after they fix it, it'll still hold up to purchase and drive it? DrD123
you need to find out what was wrong, and what they are doing to fix it. The mileage is staggeringly low for an 18 year old car...
FLlegacy
Low mileage can be more of an issue than high mileage, cars aren't engineered to sit around that much. I would look for a car with average miles in decent condition. You likely will pay less for it than this one.
