bguy5
I'm looking into a new motor for my legacy 2.5gt. is it possible to swap the 2.5lt turbo to a 2.0lt turbo? And how much work is it?
RecklessWOT
Why would you want to do that? You know the 2.5 makes more power than that of a 2.0 of the same years, right? The 2.5GT is basically a de-tuned STI engine, made more power than the WRX of the time stock for stock. That's the whole reason the 2.5GT was such a great car... If you've got a blown engine, just replace it with the stock engine from a junkyard or have it rebuilt (if possible). If you REALLY want to swap the engine out rather than beef up the one you have, get one from a full-on STI or a newer 2.5T. No reason to downsize to a 2.0, that's just silly.
