Bobbo63
My car is a 95... I think i found a parts car that is a 99ish. How well will suspension n engine parts swap?
Brighton96
Most of it should swap over. Suspension is the same and most of the power train is the same.
twisty
the 99 may be a phase II hybrid, could be different engine wiring and trans may be for the next gen if i recall from reading here.

Setnev
the 99 may be a phase II hybrid, could be different engine wiring and trans may be for the next gen if i recall from reading here. Twisty is half correct. It is a Phase 2 hybrid motor. It's a Phase 2 lower end (block and internals) but used the Phase 1 heads and intake. This motor is direct plug-n-play with any EJ18, EJ22, and EJ25 platform from 95-98. The only difference in electronics is the transmission. If it is a 99 Auto, the transmission is a Phase 2 and will not work in the 90-98 cars. The ECU, however, is very valuable to older 2nd owners who wish to run a newer Subaru transmission in their older car, not to mention 99 ECU's were the first year that worked with FreeSSM to read more transmission and engine sensors than a standard ELM327 OBD scanner would. wtdash
This motor is direct plug-n-play with any EJ18, EJ22, and EJ25 platform from 95-98. EJ18 was still OBD1 in '95 and won't PnP..... just in case someone is desperate enough to put that 110hp/torque engine in anything.
