02 Forester coilovers on 03 Legacy

Recommended Posts

Looking to lower my legacy about 2-2.5" and was looking at Raceland's coilovers for the Forester. I know I'm getting what I pay for and that they're kinda cheap but I'm only dailying it and I'm on a budget. I was looking at H R springs but they're $250 and drop about an 1-1.5" so I thought might as well pay another $150 and get some adjustability. Thanks for any info.

'98-2008 Forester all used struts front and rear. 2000+ legacy/Outback used front struts and rear multi-link w/shocks, so unless you find otherwise, they're incompatible.

Thank you! 50 views and finally got a reply lol. Do you know if the 4th gen legacy coilovers would fit my 3rd gen? Thanks

I'm mostly old school Subie - <'00 - so not much help.

I'd look on here some more and peruse Subaruoutback.org, too. Remember the OB is just a lifted Legacy. You might find a few that have lowered their OB's, too.

4th Gen Legacy/Outback suspension will bolt into a 3rd Gen Legacy/Outback and vice versa, tophats should be the same. That suspension is share only with those 2 generations and chassis, they don't carry over to Impreza or Forester.
