Taylormclean Posted May 6, 2017 Share Posted May 6, 2017 Hello everyone. I know this is random thing to chat about but I am curious if anyone is an aircraft mechanic on the outside? What I mean by that is I am currently 5 years into my career as and Aerospace Propulsion Journeyman (aka aircraft engine mechanic) for the Air force. I am just curious what aircraft maintenance is like on the civilian side. I am nearing the end of my contract with the Air Force and don't know if I want to stay in or not. I am currently working on my bachelors in aviation maintenance with a specialty in safety which also comes with my A&P certificate so I would just need to get certified. I have 10 more months left here in Germany and I will have one more year left after that until I have to either reenlist or get out. Thank you for your input!
