Turbo. LGT 2.0

Recommended Posts

My 05 lgt turbo decided that its too tired to work.

Its a vf38 twin scroll.

My economical replacement options available to me are :

Td05 20g single scroll

Vf24 single scroll

Turbo from Forrester xt 05(not sure what type yet)

or to buy a cheap cartridge from eBay or Aliexpress.

The Forrester one can come complete with headers and downpipe.

Help !!

Will the vf24 turbo fit on my vf38 exhaust housing?

Will the fxt turbo just bolt on?

You still running the standard top mount intercooler? Compressor outlet will be just as limiting as the exhaust housing for compatibility. Where are you located?

Almost any other journal bearing VF will fit but requires the exhaust housing to be machined to match.

The best bet is to try find a vf38, vf44, vf45 or a TD04HLA

You'll want to stay twinscroll for the response.

Thanks Andy.

I am in Durban , South Africa.

Apparently ihi VF turbo spares are not very well promoted here.

Yes I have a stock tmic.

Thanks for the link, I think I would have to get a cartridge.

I can get a td04 from a sti but it is single scroll, any idea if the bc twin scroll exhaust housing will work on the td04?

BC twinscroll exhaust housing?

Anything other than one of the ones listed above will require a tune and extra parts. Intercooler aswell in pretty much all cases.

Are the 2.0gt's the standard option over in SA or the 2.5gt's?
