Anyone have an aftermarket head unit with car portal?

Think I might have mentioned this before but the tech has been out for a while now. Just curious what gauges and info we get from the can bus. I called idata and they couldn't tell me other than saying it all depends on the car. Looking to buy a new head unit soon and might give it a shot. Would be nice to pick up a few gauges plus the maestro steering wheel controller gives double functions for all buttons.
