willmonts Posted March 9, 2017 Share Posted March 9, 2017 I was under the car today, and I discovered my passenger cv joint was torn and spraying grease everywhere. After a little searching I've learned it's probably a wise idea to go ahead and replace the entire joint/axle assembly because the car makes a clicking sound at full steering lock. I found a rebuilt axle assembly at http://www.partsgeek.com for a very good price, but it is for a Legacy. The same site has a new one for an Outback, but it is around 30% more expensive. Will a Legacy axle assembly fit an Outback since they are the same platform, or are the different?
