S4Robo
Hi everyone! Just wanted to start off introducing myself. My nickname is Robo and this is my very first Subaru I've owned. Just picked up a '01 Legacy Outback Wagon 5MT (BH?) and loving it. Something about the simplistic feel driving it brings me back to the old days. Any who, I'm still very new to the Subaru forums/pages and so I have lots to still learn. With that being said I was wondering if I could get some assistance from fellow members. Topics: Online resources to go for information/reference to either the B4 models or Subaru in general (a bit more specific than "Google") Places to go when looking for OEM/Aftermarket parts (Besides Ebay) Known issues with the BH's or Subaru's in general And lastly: What are your top mod's to do Here are some pics http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc56/robertphan15/IMG_2041.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc56/robertphan15/IMG_2038.jpg This is my other ride: http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc56/robertphan15/S4%20Front.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc56/robertphan15/S4%20Rear.jpg Cheers! Looking forward to being active on this site!
JBisson
There are 2 types of Subarus. Ones that have had headgaskets done and ones that need them done Other than that enjoy it. Suspension and sway bars are always a good starting point. Also there isn't really any power mods other than a full build or a STI/ WRX swap Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Do you know approx the time frame to change the head gasket? I'm sitting at 101k currently and the engine looks relatively clean. Lol yeah couldn't find any engine mods, but the previous owner installed a new clutch assembly and a short-throw short shifter recently.
Sara32013
You'll know when you need head gaskets. It isn't really a maintenance thing, they all just came with bad head gaskets. They will eventually leak. Mine currently leaks oil from the head. If they've already been changed with the updated version you should be fine. JBisson
I made it 193xxx miles before I needed to change the head gaskets. When I got the car it had an external leak (oil leak) but eventually I did have an internal failure between the combustion chamber and the coolant jacket Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
RumbleRumble
neutral safety switch, shifter joint, end links and bushings, balljoints, filler neck, spark plugs, trans mount rear differential bushings, clutch slave and master, valve cover and head gaskets. S4Robo
Thanks for the input everyone. Any recommendations on exhausts/ULH's for the legacy BH's. I'm not looking for power or anything just a better tone.
RumbleRumble
Custom exhaust is the way to go. Ebay headers and what every muffler you like.
