New to forum - Parts question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, new to the forum. I picked up a 2000 Legacy GTB E-tune 5 months ago. I'm feeling lost when it comes to sourcing parts for this car. Is there a list anywhere of parts that crossover from USDM cars?

Currently my car has a leaking axle seal. Having trouble finding any leads on parts. Can anyone point me to some parts sites for these cars?

There is a great deal of parts sharing across the Subaru models. Things like wiring tend to be specific to particular models.

There are parts sites that will let you enter your VIN, then they will allow you to search for the best match.

For example:

http://www.quirkparts.com/

(Quirk Parts in Quincy, MA)

https://parts.bestbuysubaru.com/

(Heuberger in Colorado Springs, CO)

and several others.

These sites will usually show you a parts diagram that will help you identify the part you want.

Not sure how that works for ordering from Canada, but you can contact them.

It's a JDM car, so VIN search turns up no results on those websites

Shame, we don't get JDM cars here in the States. The parts diagrams on those sites are still extremely useful even if you can't get a VIN match. The prices are discounted, too.

It's cool the JDM cars we can get in Canada, but it's not as easy owning one as I hoped. I've only had my Legacy GTB for 5 months or so but I'm thinking of selling it, and buying a LHD Forester XT instead.
