Winesalot
I just started a new job 250 miles from home where my garage and tools are. Of course now is the time that my power steering pump decided to start rattling. It is clear the bearing(s) are bad. I have ordered a replacement and have it being shipped to the house and I will change it out Friday when I go home for the weekend. My concern is what I will do if it decides to catastrophically fail before I get home. What I am thinking is that I can drive for a couple of days without power steering but I will need a shorter belt to keep the alternator turning. Does anyone know what size I would need for this? I figure I can buy one and be ready if the pump pulley decides to 'liberate itself.' lol Car is a 97 Legacy Outback Wagon with the 2.5l
twisty
easiest way to find that length is a piece of string around the pulleys and then measure it out.
