Family of Subaru's

So it's been a while since I've posted any photo threads, so I'd figure I'd contribute a little bit of what I have going on.

So first comes the short-term turned long-term project: Rally Cheap

Rally Cheap is a 99 OBW Limited. Bought her for the low price of FREE (after selling unneeded parts from my donor car). Had a mishap with her during towing where I completely shredded up the front bearings and she has sat in the same spot since I bought her. She's going to get worked on over the winter, getting a new EJ25/22 Frankenmotor swapped into it, new bearings and front brakes. The goal is to have a cheap car to run off-road in down the seasonal rally course that is here locally.

The next vehicle in our arsenal is my girlfriend's new daily driver. It's a 2001 LL Bean Outback. This one is nicknamed: Hell Cat. No, it doesn't have 707HP. It's appropriately name as such because it was a living hell the night we picked her up. Story can be found here. Also, she has a EZ30 under the hood that purrs like a happy cat. It needs a few things here and there, but couldn't beat the price and the condition of it.

The third Subaru in our arsenal is going to be my new daily driver. It's a 99 Legacy Outback. This one is named Land Shark (my girlfriend named it, i like it, so it is). I picked it up pre-auction from a dealer in Mesa, AZ who bought it at auction and discovered that it had a blown head gasket (white smoke in the tailpipe). They were going to just take it back to the auction and resell it until I came in and talked the kid into selling it to me.

The car is all original, one prior owner car, with an EJ25D in it with only 140k miles, just ripe for a HG change. I purchased the entire gasket kit and headbolts and will have it up and running in about a week's time.

Here are the two new acquisitions together taken at my parents house in Phoenix.

Hell Cat (right) has had almost it's whole cooling system replaced (sans the radiator). We're fighting burping the EZ30, which is not easy in the lightest of lights. It's not ready to make the 110 mile trip home up the mountain yet, due to it having massive amounts of air in the cooling system.

Land Shark (left) made it back home to Prescott, AZ without issue. It's going under the knife this week getting the head gaskets replaced and other various gaskets done.

My final pride and joy is Project Mistress. It's not a Legacy, shares no parts with the Legacy, but it's all Subaru! She just got out of my homemade paint booth a few weeks ago and she looks great. The photos below, believe it or not, are just the primer. Its matte white and I kinda enjoy the look of it.

Thanks for looking. Let me know what you all think!

I absolutely love the SVX. By far, my favorite out of all of them. She's a beast, but a blast to drive, and when she gets into "Power Mode", watch out, she unleashes a fury against whoever is in my way. She has way more power than the EZ30 in my girlfriend's Outback. I need to get her dynoed when I get the tuning right on it. She suffers from an intermittent cylinder 5 misfire and replacing the coil and plug didn't help.

IIRC the 92 eg33 has like 30ish more HP than the ez30. gearing may be better as well, and im sure weight and balance come into play for it too.

i see one of the prescott 2nd gens is up for sale as well, saw it on simply subies group

Yep, the stock EG33 has 230HP. I'm pushing beyond that. How much? I don't know, haven't dyno'ed it yet. Mine also has a 4.44 transmission and rear diff swap from an 01 Forester that changes the acceleration and makes it a lot more fun to drive. Power mode kicks in a lot harder and at a much better torque curve. The other thing is the 4.44 swap gives me much better reliability so I am not grenading the gears (like the first SVX's suffered from) and I get a true 50/50 power output. (SVX stock was something like 60/40).

I can't see what is posted on Simply Subies Arizona because I'm awaiting approval. It's ridiculous, I've requested to join 4 times now and it gets denied or ignored. Can you pull some strings for me?

Ya it's a custom carbon fiber hood, only 6 or 7 of them in the country. They were a group buy on the SVX World Forums a few years ago and didn't sell well because they were super expensive to manufacture (almost $1500). The CF was pretty messed up and the epoxy was starting to break down, so I sanded it down, re-filled the epoxy areas, and painted it.
