notthesnail
My 06 5EAT just started beeping/chiming on the way home. It will do it 15 times, pause, then repeat every minute or two. Sounds the same as the seatbelt or door chime. I've unhooked the seatbelt warning, and the lights come on in the dash when I open the doors, but there are no lights with this beeping. Someone got my attention to say it smelled super rich, and the mileage display showed higher gas consumption. Right after that it felt low on power, although it didn't up to that point. Hooked up the code reader when I got home and there was nothing. Car is stage 2 with catted downpipe and full cat back. Thinking maybe the cat is plugged. Any other ideas? I should go check the air filter, too. Maybe I sucked up a bunch of leaves.
StkmltS
Sounds frustrating. I'm in to hear the eventual solution. Sent from inner space. My DiySB rebuild Got Misfires?

notthesnail
D'oh! I did have a bag in the passenger seat. Actually, a case of pop (soda for you southerners). Plenty of weight to set off the warning. "Sounds the same as the seatbelt..." {smacks forehead} Still have to check out the richness issue. Something isn't quite right, but at least it's not setting off phantom alarms.
