jimkelly1964
my car currently has awd auto trans. I am not opposed to putting in an auto fwd trans. i want my binding issues gone forever. since I recently replaced the duty c solenoid, my guess is because both trans I have had these gouges, it may be these gouges that are causing me problems either by themselves or in combo with duty c?? http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2460-1465335579.jpg http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2460-1466160769.jpg
me and my metro
From what I have read, 90-91 plug and play. Big change in 98 so maybe some in between with some mods. The 92 has a different neutral safety switch for one.
jimkelly1964
thanks. hope more will chime in. i'm guessing most old autos are gonna have some amount of gouging. thus i'm thinking of a 5 spd conversion but i like auto for traffic jams. wtdash
Hi, Any 4EAT Automatic trans from a '90-'91, and '95-'98 from a 2.2/EJ22 car will work. They are all 4.11 FD ratio, and every thing I've read - mostly on the USMB site - states they are plug-n-play -even work w/your TCU/TCM. If you GRIND down those grooves flat - your TB will go away - worked for me. You can also just drive w/the FWD fuse in, if you don't want to fight it. bcmaxx
A 98 ej25d trans fit in my 93. Plays well with the ecu. 99 gets iffy as it can have the newer 4eat. I had to swap rear diff and doff driveshft flange.

jimkelly1964
as for fwd fuse. i tried it and it did not work. if i get engine running again, i will try it again. but i think the gouging is causing issues, even with fwd fuse mode.
