541legacy
My odometer and speedometer went out along with a CEL, my first step is going to be to get behind the cluster to check the connection of the speedo cable. I'm able to get the cover around the vents above the stereo completely free as well at above the cluster but can't seem to get the lower left section free it seems like there's a screw by the rear defrost/ cruise control buttons but nothing that's visible like the other screws. Anyone have more experience?
wtdash
Lot easier to check the common failure @ the tranny. The cable tip breaks quite often w/ the same symptoms. The tip on this part breaks off. It's mounted on the passenger side of the trans. Near the dipstick for the diff oil. http://parts.boisesubaru.com/images/uploads/SimplePart%20-%20Subaru/fullsize/a_20160414_1156321842.png
541legacy
It seems different than what I have coming from my tranny, it's just a cable running from the transmission with a plastic cover then a rubber nipple covering it
wtdash
Look HERE. Remove that rubber piece and you should see the 'pin' that you pull out to release the actual cable. http://i1166.photobucket.com/albums/q615/lkiyabu/HPIM2020_zpsa724158e.jpg
