Chris_McCartney
Hey guys. Greetings from New Zealand! This is my JDM import manual 1997 Legacy GT Spec B (Bilstein) Limited twin turbo wagon in Rio Red. These are a 276bhp EJ20R 2.0 twin turbo, and the 1997 GT-Bs run a STI manual transmission. The 1997 Limited models (final models before 1998 facelift) have two extra Bosch driving lights in the front bumper, an alternative front bumper, and a premium audio system with factory subwoofer. Here in NZ we have thousands of Japanese imports, so it's pretty common to see a Legacy on almost every street. This is my second Legacy twin turbo, I much prefer my first, but it was stolen last month and insurance didn't pay out the full amount...leaving me looking around the older and cheaper Legacys. The car currently runs but struggles starting and has a fuel problems. The car is completely stock with the exception of an old Rockford Fosgate stereo and an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser and steering lock. Hood needs repainted red. Rio Red is the rarest colour to find here in New Zealand, there's actually twice as many Cashmere Yellow ones here, and we see blue/silver or white GTBs everywhere. Factory 0-60 on these is 5.7 seconds. It's powerful but definately wouldn't keep up with the B4 RSK that it replaced. Pictures of that further down the page. This is my previous 1999 Legacy B4 RSK (Rally-Sport Kompressor), these were an EJ20 twin turbo with factory forged pistons, bigger turbos, Porsche designed chassis, Bilstein suspension, premium stereo, leather interior, and factory 17" wheels and Nitrogen-filled Bridgestone Potenza RE002 tyres. This was all stock with the exception of an WRX STI top-mount intercooler, a cheap boost guage, HKS Blow-Off Valve, a Mine's Motorsport ECU, and an STI Genome muffler. This car left the factory with 276bhp but I'm pretty sure mine was running around 300bhp after the Mine's ECU, as this thing was blisteringly fast, and would do 0-60 in well under 5 seconds, (4.6 - 4.8 maybe) whereas factory was 5.2 seconds. Of course some greedy car thieves managed to disarm the alarm and immobiliser and drive it down the road....my muffler actually woke me and I heard it drive off!
