resqguy
It really sucks you had to go thru all this. It's obvious you've gone above and beyond to comply. Here in the People's Republic of Maryland, it is surprisingly easy to perform the semi-annual emissions check. We even have a self-service OBD kiosk you can hook up to in the middle of the night on weekends now. i hope SoA makes it right.
BBPeik
I just spoke with the field service engineer for our area. He told me that SOA is indeed aware of the issue and is in the process of creating a resolution. The only downside is that now I have to wait for a letter to be sent from them with instructions on a solution. Sounds like it is going to be treated as a recall. Now we wait. My someday I will be done with it thread.
JLGT
...and unfortunately everyday I drive my vehicle it is subject to citation or impoundment since my sticker expired a couple weeks ago. http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/s547/subleg/P1110423_zpsaluwtgef.jpg
BBPeik
Man that really sucks. You might try to get SOA to give you a loaner as currently your car is not driveable and it is totally their fault. JLGT
Two months since the initial issue. I received an email about a week back stating that Subaru is soon going to issue a recall that will replace the underhood stickers. We will see, still driving expired. Ellesedil
Oregon is seeing a ton of of California imports too. The only inspection you need to do is an emissions check via OBDII. No other emissions check is needed, and Oregon has apparently never heard of a safety inspection.
GTEASER
California has never heard of safety inspections either, although when titling an out of state car, or bringing a car out of non-op status, you do need to have a "lighting" inspection done. If they did institute safety inspections, all the illegal immigrants without insurance or driver's licenses would be riding the bus to the fields. Ellesedil
I assume the New England states have safety inspections because of how the salt deteriorates cars. I'm getting close to crossing the streams, so I'll stop.
GTEASER
Probably, but all other states should have it as well because people are idiots and can't take care of their cars. The number of seriously bald tires I see around here is worrisome. JLGT
Apparently the new stickers are going to be sent out by mail and will include a notification letter, new sticker, and installation instructions. It is called the WTI-69 Service Program.
