mclarenf3
Hello, I've noticed the past few months, my climate control system has been acting up. The electronic buttons and dials all work as expected, but I'm getting no air circulation (even after putting it on full). Then randomly, it seems, I get a full blast of air and it's working fine again. I've driven the car for 45 minutes and no air has come out the vents (in any of the modes and temperatures) and at other times it works as expected. When I press the A/C button, I can hear the compressor turn on, and I can tell that the vents do feel colder, but still no air circulation. Any idea where I can start troubleshooting? Since it is an intermittent issue, it seems to rule out a broken fuse or a relay not working. I've got a service appointment setup with Subaru, but their approach is always to replace everything with little regard to customer's cost. I've got a 2006 Legacy GT, 5AT if that matters. mclarenf3
I've noticed now, that when I start the car (from a cold start) it takes about 3-5 minutes for the vents to start blowing air. Not as bad as it was, but still something appears to be wrong.
RustyRuu
sounds like a blower motor issue...
mclarenf3
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm thinking the same thing. Getting it checked out on Tuesday, will update with whatever the dealership says.
mclarenf3
Just a quick update. It turned out to be the relay that needed to be replaced. It's been working great since then, but still cost me $350 in labour for that $9 part.
