Downsizing the OB3R

Recommended Posts

I would like to fit my Geolander AT/S 16" 215/65's on the OB3R. I have a problem that I cant seem to make up my mind regarding wheels.

Being located outside the US, its difficult to get hold of the rally type wheels, which I do think look pretty sweet on the 3rd gen.

I would like a set of FXT 16's, but I've also been offered a set of 2.0R Impreza wheels. (which look very similar to those fitted on the Legacy 2.0R's and even smaller type LGT wheel)

(my old FXT)

Im starting to wonder if I really want to downsize. I came across this last night

and i just love the stance!

Im pondering now if I should just throw 225/55's on my current wheels to make them look a bit more chunky.

Stock tire size on the Outback is 225/55/17.

Picture of my car with 225/55/17s. Your wheels look bigger though, would it be 225/55/18? Might have trouble fitting those in the fenders. I do like your current wheels better than any you linked though.

I have 215 55 17s on now and they are worn on the insides. I have a feeling it's giving me a Ujoint like vibration.

I want to fit All terrains on the car for now and I'll probably keep these rims. I also still have the Oem wheels.

So I had to settle for the 2.0r wheels. I'm not thattt stoked with the overall design but perhaps they will grow on me. Maybe I'll add some paint.
