patcal
My 94 started doing something odd. When cold only, it will start normal, then the idle will go up to about 1500-200rpm, then drop to almost stalling about 500rpm. If I give it a little gas it will be OK. It settles down within a minute or less & idles normal. If I start it up warm, it seems normal. I ran some seafoam through the IAC about 2 months ago. It was sometime after that, the problem started. No codes, mileage seems good (22mpg). Any thoughts? Pat
wtdash
Hi, - Clean the MAF sensor - get some MAF spray and hit from both ends of the tube. - CTS - coolant temp sensor -there is a CTS sensor w/a connector for the ECU and a smaller sensor w/just a spade connector for the gauge. If never changed I'd do that, too...but a pain to get to. and nice rare Ti wagon. :-) TD
patcal
Thanks. I never knew about the sub models until I got my Ti. I thought they were all "L". Someone on another forum suggested I replace my CTS. I have no history on what may have been done to the car until I received it. It has 253K miles on it. Is the MAF spray the same as throttle body cleaner? Pat
patcal
Answered my own question on the MAF spray. It is different.
ehsnils
Also check all hoses so you don't have an air leak, and if you have an EGR valve it may also be a culprit.
