1999 Legacy Outback one dim high beam

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. So I have the aforementioned Subi, but the catch is the headlights are from a 1997 legacy. So here's my problem. Recently I hit a deer and needed to replace the drivers side headlight. That's how I learned my lights were from a '97 (made sense seeing as how the bulbs for a '99 fit the connector but not the housing). So when installing it I replaced the connector with one for a '97. The light had almost no power so I checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown. Now both my low beams work fine, but the new one goes dimmer on high (the other one works fine). Now my question is could this be caused by it having one '97 connector and one '99 connector? Haven't gotten around to changing the other one, but if that's not the issue I don't want to screw it up more. My high beam indicator also glows slightly when the headlights are on. Comes on fully when the highs are on.
