teksimian
Planning on replacing the timing belt on my LGT. Car has 144,000KM on it now. I replaced new blue long life coolant into the car at the 96,000KM maintenance point. It's supposed to last 200K i believe. Question is should I just replace the coolant since i'm pulling the rad? If not what should I do to ensure it isnt contaminated when drained and reused?
Shadow_419
I would just drain into clean container/buckets. If you want to be extra careful you could strain it through a screen before you refill the radiator. Good luck with the work.
fotofan
Personally I'd probably replace it (what's $25 when you're doing a T-belt?) but you could get away with leaving it. Just make sure it stays clean. I put something here like all the cool people, except there's nothing cool to put here.

Just make sure it stays clean. More like $50 because you're going to need about 1 1/2 gallons, but it's up to what you think will be safe. If you don't think you can keep your coolant free of contaminants while you do the work, just replace.
