blcnghtsky Posted April 13, 2016 Share Posted April 13, 2016 I greatly respect and appreciate the thoughts and opinions of each member here, hence why I come to you to ask for advice while I do my own digging and research as well! I'm looking to "downgrade" from a 5th gen to possibly 4th gen NA legacy or even considering a 00-01 RS. I've always loved that rally style look and any of the next generations of Impreza don't come close... My budget is somewhere in the neighborhood of $4-5k (which I would like to include some maintenance funding too if at all possible) I found 2 RS's within driving distance and wanted some input from you fine folks... any advice or things to look out for is greatly appreciated. For being both RS's they are kind of on opposite sides of the spectrum. Subaru Impreza RS automatic 71 k original miles like new no rust 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Obviously since I am looking at these two, both could work for me. No plans for any swaps as of yet, just good and fun DD to replace my 5th gen legacy. I have questions out already regarding HG replacement or knowledge... Waiting responses. The guy has 3 other Subarus and said he is a "Subaru specialist" and that he knows a rare car when he sees one. It even has that optional digital setup on the top of the dash... It's still a 16yo car, so 71k miles, while better than 157k, still means dry and cracking hoses, things are starting to get tied and worn... Any other thoughts?
