If you take the trunk lid lining off you can use the gaps in the metal to line up the holes on both sides. I've looked at mine before and the bolts are accessible through the gaps. The only two holes are the large ones for passing thru the wiring. Subaru offers the wings as an option after the fact, there must be something out there for a template... I am going to enlarge the small picture of the template in the above instructions until it lines up with the holes in the trunk lid. Should be good enough....
