Zerohour
Hi guys, Picked up a 1996 Legacy Outback wgaon on the cheap. The clutch makes noise when released, but goes away once depressed. The previous owner said a clutch was put in the car, but by the looks, that was some time ago. I am thinking this is the throwout / release bearing as once underload the noise goes away. Seems to drive fine otherwise. I was considering just getting a full clutch kit from advanced auto or autozone. Does anyone have recommendations? Or are there a better "street" or "stage 1" type kits? Just looking for options and opinions on clutch kits. I will pulling it apart eitherway, and want to it all at once. Zerohour
Anyone? Have already learned the shift linkage is a oddball. Hoping that the clutch is not the same.
twisty
id probably just go with the stock exedy kit. unless youre planning on beefing the engine and stuff up relatively soon.
Zerohour
Plan is to use this as the donor trans on the ej22et @ 6 psi. The turbo car is down for post winter maintenance. Looking to do the swap about mid summer, July 2016. I want to do some base clutch work on this car and get some experience before pulling apart the other one. I've been making a list of options. Might type them up for what I have found.
