sbao26975
Was jacking up the car to put on jack stands to change out wheels and ran into a lot of resistance; on further inspection it looks like the threads are stripped and the jack may have not even been lubricated from the factory... DrD123
I don't see why it wouldn't be. as an aside, I'd get a better jack for when you are working on the car - the emergency jack is small and lightweight and designed to get the job done in a pinch when you need to change a flat, but not as a workhorse. FLlegacy
I seem to remember someone having their jack replaced under warranty, I will try to search and see if I find it.
Scooby Fan
I had exactly the same problem with my jack a few months ago.... it was binding so bad I need to use a small bar through the winding hole to force it to lower the car. Called my dealer with the story.... NO problem...fully covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They had to order one in since it is not an item that the parts dep't. would stock. The thread were totally galled and were eating themselves as the screw turned.
