Mod advice for my 92 2.2 fwd?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've recently obtained my very first car :3 a 1992 Subaru Liberty gx 2.2Ltr FWD wagon(or legacy for you Americans). I'm loving every bit of it but missing the note of the straight pipe which I had to change for registration purposes.

I'm looking into getting an X-Force Varex muffler (variable volume). But I'm not sure if I should get a high flow cat as well, I know it's not really needed for a na engine, but wondering if it would make a better or worse note. If it's not needed I'll stick with the muffler.

I'm also looking into STI spring or coilovers, I want to go with these because I've heard good things about them and sticking to the brand. Now that my car is well over 20yrs old I'm aware there will be sizing issues, mainly in the rear, if they won't work are there any other good/cheap options?

I'm also looking into cheap ways of increasing power, but don't know where to start. Where I live (Victoria, Australia) it's illegal to alter power figures while on probationary lisence. So wanting ways to alter power without making it too obvious. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Also thinking of putting a wagon lip spoiler or what ever their called, didn't like them before hand but their growing on me

Are there any other good mods I can do for cheap? Either aesthetic or performance wise.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated and would love to hear about different options available, (nothing too outlandish yet :p)

Also, this won't be for a while yet, but wanting to put a turbo on it. Would this be a good idea for this model?

Anyway I think I've rambled on enough. Thanks all
