Alu Underbody Guards supplier?

Recommended Posts

I have a Legacy Tourer 2009 and it occasionally sees a dirt track as result of finding somewhere dark to dump a body.....joke. It's actually because I can't be arsed to park my little scooby on the road so take it up a few farm tracks so i can work out the boot. Old girl is in the attachment.

As a result of it being a tourer REN, it squats rather low and I really don't like listening to it scratch it's belly on the floor. So i'd like to get underbody protection. How much should i be looking at/where should i look at to get underbody protection? i'd really like aluminium as it'll keep the weight down and performance won't suffer soo bad. Any suggestions are welcome. Just make them relevant.

Cheers.

I have no idea about shipping to your side of the pond, but Rallitek and Primitive both make aluminum skid plates. I bought the Rallitek one to replace my cracked plastic OEM piece of shit.

Yeah, here's links to the products they offer. I'm not sure if you have a turbo or not, hood scoop makes me think turbo, but here's links to both.

187 GBP. Not sure how much shipping is, since you have to enter all your information to get a quote.

http://get-primitive.com/protection-skidplates/287-front-skid-plate-.html - non-turbo

1/8" (3mm) thick skid plate, no oil holes (add 14 GBP for oil holes) - $140 GBP, usps priority international 70 GBP

3/16" (4.76mm) thick skid plate - 168 GBP, same price for oil holes, same price for shipping.

Basically the same prices as 2nd link, except they have extra options. Cheapest shipping is fedex international economy for $83 GBP.

Firstly, leggy-k, welcome and sweet estate. Secondly, I have the Rallitek skidplate apexi mentioned and it's pretty awesome. Definitely worth it and it has protected me from many dense icy snow chunks. The cutouts are worth it and if you can, get your car on a lift and install it with a friend. It makes it way easier than being on your garage floor. Be very careful with the mounting bolts as well.
