whlightning Posted February 27, 2016 Share Posted February 27, 2016 Ok so I have had some really bad luck with 02 outback with the 3.0 engines in them recently. Just bought another one today, with 146000 Mikes, ran fine on test drive, 150 miles later, and it's missing and running a little rough. I have another one I bought a couple weeks ago, that has been sitting at different mechanics for the past few weeks to diagnose the issue. I hear these are basically bullet proof engines, but have had nothing but trouble with them. RumbleRumble Posted February 27, 2016 Share Posted February 27, 2016 Miss fires, check the spark plugs, wires and coil pack on them. Run some fuel injector cleaner, change the fuel filter. You still have to do maintenance on the car. Just because they are "bulletproof' does not mean you don't have to maintain them. Most people call them bulletproof because they don't have head gasket problems as much and they run a timing chain. Every boxer engine can have HG problems, even Porsche.
