gwicks
Due to my large engine oil use (1.5 quarts every 600 miles freeway driving ), i decided to replace the PCV just because it's easy and cheap. While doing so i realised i have a engine hose that is not connected to anything, not sure if this is how it is supposed to be, or if this could have anything to do with my engine all use? Doesn't seem to be blowing oil anywhere or anything, just weird! http://imgur.com/WiKzPOu http://imgur.com/MlKY0vS EDIT: pics dont appear in forum, need to right click and open in new tab for some reason? gwicks
Ok think i found it, it was a vacuum hose connecting to the bottom of the intake manifold. Not sure if this could have caused any oil consumption issues? Replaced the PCV as well, so will be interesting to see if my massive oil use drops! apexi
I don't think the hose being disconnected could cause increased consumption, but that's just a guess. Replacing the pcv could decrease consumption though, so it will be interesting to see what happens with that. Also, I would make sure that same hose is connected on the other side of the engine/intake. It probably is connected, but you never know. Here's a picture of the hose on my car. Disregard the red box, this picture is from another thread on the forum where I was talking about the starter, outlined in red. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=215293&d=1440461609
