Zac88
Alright guys, purchased the h7 LED kit from Superbrightleds.com because a ballast failed on my Diode Dynamics HID kit (4300K) Installed my passenger side one because it was the side that failed, pretty easy when you have a SRI, gives a lot of added room. Now the questions I have is will the driver inside the dustcap be OK? I was reading that they can get hot but with the length of the wires it is impossible to feed it out the hole I had already drilled for the HID kit. Not to mention that hole is being used for the new braided heat sinks. Other question is how can I get a tight seal with the heat sinks outside the hole? I'm thinking just some ghetto electrical tape will do. I'll install the drivers side Saturday at work and try to go someplace dark to test how far the distance is on these. Phate
As bad as it sounds, I actually never got around to reinstalling my dust caps after putting my OPT7 kit in (was orignally going to be drilling vents in the cap anyways). I've driven in rainstorms, snow, and a ton of touchfree car washes. No problems with condensation, at least so far. If I had to guess, any moisture that gets in, also gets out very easily. YeuEmMaiMai
I would leave the driver outside of the dust cap. those LEDs will pump some heat into that tiny area. you can drill a hole to pass the braids and wiring through.
battelready
I remember one dude drilled a circle out the back, used some pvc or something to extend it and drilled a bunch of little holes to dissipate heat. I bought an auto be more involved in my uninvolvedness . 200k+ Club If you can't blind them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. My high mileage turd.
