hbthorburn Posted February 8, 2016 Share Posted February 8, 2016 What other years/models of seat belt should fit the rear seats on a 1996 legacy wagon? My right rear seat belt doesn't lock back after being fully extended. It will retract just not lock as it should to be able to hold a child seat. It locks when pulled forcefully (like when braking hard) but won't stay that way for long. I contacted my local Subaru dealer and they said that while replacement is covered under the lifetime warranty for the seat belts, they can't find one at anywhere in the country. I am not sure if the other side works but we don't want to put the car seat on the street side. If I can find one from a pick-'n pull, they can install but will not be covered by the warranty.
