ej22 phase 2 manifold

Hi I have a ej22 phase 2 and I was wondering if I could switch out different manifolds for this engine I know you cant with the ej22 phase 1 and if I can what manifolds will fit up with this please and thank you

the phase 2 ej22 99 - 00 intake manifold will swap with the ej25 SOHC 00 - 04.

however, you may run into communication issues if you use the wiring on the ''new'' intake.

 

for the most part, blocks and heads are dumb,

there are no smarts, no senors or electronics.

the intakes have all the smart stuff.

and that stuff MUST match the ECU.

and the ECU must match the harness in the car / chassis.

a mismatch will cause trouble codes,

and possibly running issues.

 

in the late 90s, the intakes would not swap,

but the sensor and harness layouts were the same.

so swapping an engine presented no problems for the ECU.

 

and i doubt you will gain any thing with an ej25 manifold.

it is likely the same part with no dramatic differences.

 

what do you want to accomplish?

The reason why is the I would like to put a nice looking manifold and up grade to a bigger throttle body if i can get the right manifold

i doubt subaru has a larger intake or throttle body.

after market maybe, but idk.

but i do not think it will change performance any at all.
