Which one?

Honestly it's a giant gamble for me. I'm buying either one sight unseen. I like the white better, it's cheaper, but about the same amount of miles my 05 had on it before I totaled it. The black is the same color I had on my 05 and has a decent amount of miles on it. What would you go with?

Notes:

I have a totaled Stage 2 05 Legacy GT 5EAT. All parts will be transferred over to go Stage 2 again right from the get-go. Anything that's broken on this car (if anything) I have available to swap from my 05 except the radiator which was smashed on total. Everything else is in working condition including the turbo.

If anyone would test drive for me that would be cool?:spin:

Also, don't care about it being over book value. Not an issue. I already have to fly somewhere to get one because there isn't ONE I can find for sale in a 500 mile radius. :D

BLACK: http://www.automotivespecialties.net/vehicle-details/2007-subaru-legacy-2-5-gt-limited-spokane-wa-id-11677436

EXTRA:

There is also a nice looking 08 LGT 5EAT with decent mileage for under book price on the same lot as the black 07. It just sucks that 08 - 09 5EATs don't have a ton of potential.

Thanks for all feedback.

They're both too expensive by several thousand dollars, especially for automatics. Those prices would be more appropriate for 5MT cars in the 70-80k mile range.

Hey Darth Ru,

I'll sell you my 2005 legacy 2.5 MT with about 104k miles on the clock for less than that. It has a V2 access port and a Cobb catted downpipe. It also comes with a binder of receipts dating back to 2008 showing that I spared no expensine maintaining the car. It had newish hawk hps brakes and Goodyear eagle f1 all season tires. If you're interested I'll send you some more information if you would like.

If we are talking book values, you can sell a car for more if it has an automatic transmission. Worth to people who specifically buy cars to build, maybe. The problem here is I am looking for a 5EAT specifically to build. When I'm done building the 5EAT like I was in the process of doing, I am going to look for a Spec.B , but I'm not in any hurry to do so. I live in Montana and only have a few days off to fly out somewhere, get the car, and drive back. This means I can only really look in like a 500 - 700 miles radius.

Thank you for your feedback though. If anyone knows of one for sale in that radius that's a decent buy, let me know. My only other option would be to get my current car fixed. The bodywork and parts are not an issue, but the frame damage is. Do any of you think it'd be better to just get the frame fixed rather than getting a new one? For example, let's say that the damage is fixed very well and it's 99% of the original state. Will that 1% be enough to mess with anything? I've never dealt with frame damage before.

Well it looks like I am fixing my 05.

Already ordered:

New bumper beam

Cover

Fenders

Radiator (and hoses)

Radiator Supports

Radiator and bumpers are already off. Tomorrow will be ripping off the fenders and the supports in anticipation of installing the new stuff. Frame damage was very minimal. Passenger side frame moved less than 1/8in cracking the weld. Will be moving this back to exact same spot it moved from and putting everything back together with the new parts. Also going to replace the water pump and timing belt. Not sure yet if the heads are cracked, but if they are will be doing an engine rebuild.

Thanks for posting everyone.
