gregrock1989
My 07 N/A has been consuming about 2-3 quarts of oil between changes since I got it in April. I never see any puddles of oil under the car, the inside of my exhaust tips are loaded with carbon. I bought a code reader because my CEL comes on so much, its always PO420. I finally went to a Subaru dealer to see what they could dig up and now its starting to make sense. I guess I have dropped exhaust valve guide(s). Has anyone here been through this? If so can you please give me a ballpark in what im going to be spending to get this fixed by a professional? I asked the dealer but they said it would be too hard to determine. I dont have the tools to pull the engine out myself. Would an engine swap/rebuild be in a similar price range? If im going to spend the money id like to keep this car running as long as possible, the body is MINT and its only got about 95,000 miles. Just wondering what my options are, if there are any. Cheers.
YeuEmMaiMai
you got to take the head off to fix that. You can do it your self if you are so inclined but a head shop will be able to do quote you a price.... I would do both heads.
