99 Legacy SUS 30th Anniversary

Recommended Posts

FINALLY PICS...OK it only took me a few months but don't worry the pics aren't that good. This is my daughters first car, I had a very tight budget and was hoping for a Subaru. We already have two 04 Foz-es. BUT those are "really not cool"... The Outback didn't spark any interest and a bug-eye Imp didn't make the cut. Then a major bump in the road, a T-belt pulley let go on my wife's XS, took the budget even lower. The SUS was found in NJ, it had been "put out to pasture" literally for about a year, then the owner towed it in to a dealer hoping for a trade-in but that was a no-go. It ended up in the hands of one of the mechanics who rebuilt it for his sister; new separator plate, head gaskets, full T-belt kit, new rad w/hoses, brakes etc. trans fluids drained,(not flushed!) refilled. All the stuff you would do for a family member, except clean it and it was DIRTY. His sister did not like it, so months later it ended up at my house. My daughter actually likes it, "it's old, kinda retro and the funky seats too" It does have a couple of issues: the Code alarm & the shifty hesitation auto trans. It drives nice, is quiet and I actually like the "heavy" feel of the steering. ANYWAY here's the pics....

She didn't want a bug eye? I love my leggy, but I would rather own a bug eye.

Yes, the big round lights and plastic body "armor" just killed it, I found one in very good, original condition but couldn't "sell it". Good thing however, this was le$$ and most of the big things done.
