specbFTW
Well I'm about to purchase a 1 owner 2008 legacy gt 5-spd with 211k on the original motor and trans. This one owner car has a ton of maintance all done at a dealership from Subaru. Car runs great and gas no oil leaks. He just had the clutch changed at 208k I'm just more concerned with the head gaskets or motor in general to blow. He did a weekend trip to lake Tahoe every weekend so miles are high . Anything to look for or loon or or should I stay clear? This will be a 40 mile a day car for me. I'm getting a really good price on it also
whitrzac
Sounds like a $3k car to me. That needs all of the maintenance items that a 200k subaru needs. That also has all of the potential $texas issues that a turbo subaru has. If you do your own work, yes. If you pay someone to work on your cars, no. FLlegacy
If you are just needing a commuter and everything checks out I don't see why not. Just be realistic is does have a ton of miles on it. You definitely need to get a subie specialist to check it out before handing any money over.

legend2
My 04 wrx had 240k+ when I sold it. I believe it would have went much longer if the new owner did not throw aftermarket bits on without a tune. Original clutch at 208k is a good sign it was babied.
