Wiring problem with some weirdness - need suggestions

Recommended Posts

I have been chasing a voltage leak that kills my battery in about 4 days. Radio also does some weird when turned on it blacks out and then pops regardless of volume level.

But when I pull the two radio fuses, this does not make the leak go away.

I have had to place my car on a charger for the last year to keep it from dead.

So, I bought a clamp on meter and did some clamping and found this is the culprit wire - Blue with red stripe -about .270 milli amps draw. This wire goes through the "Back up" fuse (20A) which has nothing to do with the back up light apparently.

Pulled the wire out of the plug and taped it up to see what was affected that I could find: Open door lights (courtesy), map and dome lights, radio and climate, mileage display, and security and keyless fob system were all out. The backlighting for these same does work tho.

My problem is, that is a heck of a lot of wiring to narrow down.

Any ideas?
